Why "Hollywood Beach Memoirs?"

Over the course of the last few days I have had a few people ask me, "Why is your blog called Hollywood Beach Memoirs and not Grover's Corners Memoirs?"

Now, this is a valid question. After all, I mention my hometown of Grover's Corners quite often, but I never mention the town in which I currently live in, Hollywood Beach. The fact is Hollywood Beach Memoirs is a play on words. I love Neil Simon's work, and one of my favorite of his plays turned to film is Brighton Beach Memoirs. To the best of my knowledge, Mr. Simon has never penned anything which includes "Grover's" or "Corners" in the title. Therefore, Hollywood Beach Memoirs works quite well.

Next up on the list of celebrities that influenced my formative years will be Clint Walker, Gil Gerard, Tippi Hedren, Eva Marie Saint and Eartha Kitt. (Not necessarily in that order.) Prior to their posts, I've begun work on the next post which is about a legendary songstress and a true diva. She is a lady who has been singing for the better part of six decades and does not look to slow down any time soon.

If you need a hint, how's this one? One of her signature hit songs was briefly the Grover's Corners town anthem for a short period of time during The Summer of Love. :-)~
